Shin-Suzaki Junction, Nagoya Expressway

Nagoya LIVE --:--:-- JST

About the Shin-Suzaki Junction Camera

Shin-Suzaki Junction is one of the busier knots in the Nagoya Expressway network. It sits in the Meieki-minami area of Nakamura Ward, just south of Nagoya Station, where the Central Loop Line meets Route 2 Higashiyama and Route 5 Manba.

That makes it a genuine three-way decision point rather than a simple merge: traffic arriving from the west of the city on Route 5 can either join the loop around the centre or turn east toward Higashiyama, and the camera catches the weaving that results.

For anyone driving in Nagoya it is a practical camera rather than a scenic one. Congestion here backs up quickly onto the connecting routes, and the elevated structures are among the first places to show standing water in heavy rain. A new half-interchange, Shin-Suzaki Exit, is under construction nearby with completion targeted for fiscal 2027.
