Minato Mirai and Railway View
About the Minato Mirai and Railway View Camera
This camera combines two subjects the source channel names directly: the Minato Mirai skyline and the railway running below it, framed wide enough to double as a sky and weather view.
Yokohama is one of the densest rail nodes in the country outside central Tokyo. JR, Keikyu, Tokyu, Sotetsu, the Minatomirai Line and the municipal subway all serve the area, so the trains crossing this view come in a wide mix of liveries and there is rarely a long gap between them.
The skyline behind them is the master-planned Minato Mirai district, stepping down toward the water with the 296-metre Landmark Tower at its high point. The open sky in the upper frame makes this a practical camera for watching weather arrive over Yokohama, which is part of why the channel bills it as a weather camera too.
