About the Tsuetsuki Pass Camera
This camera sits at the teahouse on Tsuetsuki Pass, the road crossing between the Suwa basin and the Ina valley in central Nagano.
The pass runs at around 1,250 metres and carries Route 152, following a line that has been used for centuries — the old route toward the Akiba pilgrimage road. Its viewpoint looks back over the Suwa basin, and on clear days the Yatsugatake range stands across the valley.
Practically, it is a road camera. Passes at this height freeze well before the valleys on either side, and snow can lie here when Chino and Ina are clear. Anyone planning to drive over rather than around should look at this first.
