Tokyo Station Railway View

This camera looks down on the tracks at Tokyo Station, the point where the Tokaido and Tohoku Shinkansen networks terminate and a dense set of conventional lines runs through on the levels beside them.

Tokyo Station handles more trains per day than almost anywhere in Japan, and the Shinkansen platforms are the reason. Turnaround here is famously tight — cleaning crews work a train in a matter of minutes so the set can go back out, which is why the platforms rarely sit empty for long.

For anyone interested in rolling stock this is a productive frame. Tokaido services in white and blue, Tohoku and Hokuriku sets in their own liveries, and conventional trains on the Yamanote and Keihin-Tohoku lines all pass through the same view.
