About the Odori Park from Sosei Square Camera
This camera looks over Odori Park from Sapporo Sosei Square, the complex on the park's eastern end. Odori runs about 1.5 kilometres east to west and splits the city in two — the north and south in Sapporo addresses are measured from this line.
The elevated angle suits the park, because Odori is long and thin and hard to appreciate from ground level. From here you can see how it functions as a single continuous space rather than a series of blocks.
Few parks change as completely by season. Early February brings the Snow Festival and its large sculptures, summer brings one of Japan's biggest beer gardens, autumn the Autumn Fest, and December the White Illumination. There is an event running for a good part of the year.
