Noto-Kashima-Station-In-Anamizu

Ishikawa, Japan LIVE --:--:-- JST

About the Noto-Kashima Station Camera

This camera covers Noto-Kashima Station in Anamizu, on the Noto Peninsula in Ishikawa. It is a small rural halt on the Noto Railway's Nanao Line, and services are infrequent.

The station is known locally as Sakura Station. Rows of cherry trees line both sides of the track for a stretch of around a hundred metres, and when they flower the platform sits inside a tunnel of blossom. It draws visitors from well beyond the peninsula for the short window it lasts, usually in early to mid April.

Outside that window it is a quiet country station, and the appeal is the seasonal turn of the trees and the rhythm of a line where a train is an event rather than a background noise. The Noto Peninsula was struck by a major earthquake in January 2024, and services and facilities in the region have been affected — worth checking current operating information before planning a visit.
