Hokkaido Live Camera (STV)

This is a regional weather camera operated by STV, Sapporo Television, one of Hokkaido's main broadcasters. It's used to track sky conditions and weather changes across the island in real time, the same kind of feed used on local TV weather segments.

Because it's a broadcast weather camera rather than a tourist landmark, the value here is practical: checking sky and light conditions before deciding whether to head outdoors or plan around the weather.

One caveat matters when reading this feed: Hokkaido is large enough that a single camera cannot stand in for the whole island. In winter the split is stark, with the Sea of Japan side taking heavy sea-effect snow off cold air crossing warm water, while the Pacific side stays comparatively dry and clear on the same day. A bright sky here says little about conditions a few hours' drive away.
